Khan Academy : Intro to Javascript

 I came across this course from Khan Academy that I see builds the right foundation for someone interested in programming and teach them basics of programming.

Since this is introductory course, it does require you to know much about it other than having good logical and reasoning skills. 

This is a free course with high quality content.
